Taken offstage, the picture shows ten peers in robes and coronets. One robe is red and onother gree, the rest are purple, blue and black. To the right of the group the Lord Chancellor is peering quizzically at the rest. Strephon stands at the back left, wearing a mustard coloured jerkin. In front of the group is a boy wearing a white shirt, black breeches and tricorn hat and red stockings and cummerbund.
